Rooms are a bit outdated but comfy and quiet. We were coming into town late and the desk would be closed when we arrived so the owner placed the key in a location known only to us so we could get in. That was amazing! They really go above and beyond here to make sure you are taken care of! Prices are fair and beds are firm but comfortable. It’s a motel. You get what you get. But as motels go it’s better than most!

Take a close look at the one star reviews, I'd say they are from people that cannot be pleased no matter what. I stayed there as I had a venue in duquette over the weekend. Joe was a great guy and easy to talk to and honestly just a normal good person trying to make a living. It was quiet and the room was clean the shower functioned like it should and there's a good pizza place right nearby. I definitely will go back . Remember your not paying Duluth prices so don't expect absolute perfection. For the money was a good value. I felt safe and yes the outside lights work ..nothing really to complain about and I got a good night's sleep.

Just stayed here over the weekend with some friends. First of all, the owner Joe is great! He was friendly, fun and very generous. The rooms may not be newly remodeled but the beds are just fine, mini fridge worked well and some basic tv channels. The towels are fine, maybe reevaluate your life if standard size towels are a “complaint” for you. Lol thanks Joe!!

Our stay was a fee weeks back and I've spaced on leaving this review. This place met and exceeded our expectations. The price was right and the service was even better! The room we stayed in was extremely clean and well kept. The room was very cozy featuring; two beds, small fridge, tv, large bathroom/vanity area, and a table with chair. Like stated before all was immaculate. The best part of our whole experience there is the service. Hands down the best experience out of any hotel stays in my life. I called ahead and stated that I'd be in late (around 11pm). The owner said it'd be no problem. We ended up running late and got there at 1 am. We gave him a call and we got our room. The owner was welcoming and courteous. Watch out for his pup when pulling up (Snap is her name). She's super cute and welcomed us in the morning. Our stay was short but the stay here will be with me for a long time to come I'm sure. This place is at the top of my list for places to stay in the future when we're back up this way again. I gave this place 5 stars and it deserves every one. Hope this review helped you.

This motel has it all. The location is right by good lakes, trails, public land, good food and the freeway. Joe, the owner is one of the best small business owners ive ever met period. He's friendly, accommodating and always available if you need anything. This motel, Joe the owner and how he operates should be what other places try to emulate. Ive stayed here for years and many more to come.

Nice place to stay and the staff was super. My husband is in a wheel chair so the handicap room was perfect for us. A ramp was quickly produced so we had ease in entering the room. It had made it as safe for him as possible - especially the bathroom! Greatly appreciated. We would stay there again.

Great little comfy and clean rooms, comfortable beds, right on riding trails, great location and close to liquor store, gas station and great places to eat. Motel offers area delivery, room prices are affordable and owner is a very friendly guy. Had a bonfire for guests and corn hole games outside. Would highly recommend Sturgeon Lake motel!

This motel is fantastic! It’s a quiet and affordable place to stay in one of the best area's for outdoor adventures in the state. There’s lots of state land, Great Lakes, trails, woods and small towns to explore right outside your door! Joe, the motels owner is very friendly and welcoming. He knows the area very well and can make some fantastic recommendations. It’s a terrific place to stay for an affordable northland vacation!
